Identité is a series of prints and drawings all related to identity marks. The central motive, the Islik, is a big circular hat used by the Romanian aristocracy in the XVII and XVIII century. Its dimensions differed according to the social status. Printed on paper or on industrial sacks, drown on silk, Identité plays with the figurative and the iconic status of the image. The same image that is printed on sacks is be found sticked on the apples that fill the sacks …as on any commercial product.
